What is clutter?
Put simply: “Clutter is not just the stuff on your floor – It’s anything that stands between you and the life you want to be living” ~ Peter Walsh
Who might benefit from using our services?
Have you ever:
- Been overwhelmed by daily tasks such as laundry, dishes, or cleaning and ended up purchasing more clothes, dishes or paper products, etc… just to keep up?
- Said, “I’ll just put this (item) here for now” or “I’ll take care of this (item) later”?
- Piled laundry somewhere (with good intentions to put it away or to make it easier to find clothes later)… but then it sat for days or the pile just kept getting moved around?
- Felt like you were on a treasure hunt (but not the fun kind) for lost items and it ended up costing you time and money because you had to go to the store for a replacement, only to find it a week later?
- Thrown/placed items in temporary spaces (cupboards, back of closets, under beds, drawers, garages) so yourself or others didn’t have to look at it? *We call this hidden clutter*
- Put your items in a storage unit because you needed more space?
- Packed, unpacked, or transported unnecessary items when you’ve moved/travelled?
- Felt stressed, embarrassed, or inadequate because everything feels so hard, takes so much time, or you don’t know where to start?
How does clutter affect me?
Clutter and disorganization in the home may bring unnecessary stress into your life, which can cause you to feel overwhelmed, stuck, and/or discouraged.
Additional effects of clutter include feelings of:
- Decision fatigue and/or Mental overload
- Fear and/or Anxiety
- Confusion
- Hopelessness
- Low self-esteem
- and the list goes on… and on.
A person may avoid dealing with clutter because it feels too overwhelming to handle, but this can cause bigger issues later and create cycles of stress and/or hopelessness. Additionally, clutter can cause you to feel disconnected from your home, and even from your relationships with others, and with yourself.
Do I need to pick up my space before my consultation or sessions?
Please do not to clean, pick up, hide, or organize anything prior to your consultation or sessions. That’s like paying for your car to be detailed and then vacuuming the car before your scheduled appointment. We understand it can feel stressful and/or embarrassing to show someone what you’ve been dealing with in your home… but rest assured we see past the mess, to an opportunity for amazing progress and change in your home! In fact, when you give us a real-life, accurate representation of how you’ve been living in your space, it can actually make your paid session much more effective. You’re doing us a favor by showing us the whole picture, and saving yourself the stress of adding one more thing to your already overwhelming list. Thanks in advance!
